Dan Covert
Dan Covert is an artist and director that lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. In his art practice Covert investigates the potential for form to create its own graphic language and symbolic systems. He pushes the emotional and formal limits of abstraction through sculptural and painted forms. Within his minimal pieces, the individual qualities of surface and silhouette become paramount to express the unique characteristics of each shape. While aesthetically and conceptually, Dan’s work serves as a conduit for exploring the potential of connection and the limits of perfectionism. He is represented by Uprise Art.
Dan is the co-founder of the production company Dress Code and a director on their roster. His first feature documentary Geoff McFetridge: Drawing a Life won the prestigious audience award at SXSW and was Executive Produced by Spike Jonze.
